Baby steps in Social Media Marketing

It's 2:53 AM! I'm over-cloking my brain to 120% thinking ways to create an actual and fully working Social Media Department. It's not as easy as it might look. Florin (my manager) told me that by the end of august R&S (the company) must have a fully functional Social Media Department.

So my first task is to get some people to work with. So as any social media marketer would do, I started searching for CVs that could meet the standardes of a social media expert. The problem is that nobody is an expert in Social Media. :)) Yey! Happy, happy, joy, joy!


So I turned all my efforts towards Facebook. Please God of Facebook, send me a sign! And He did! :)) After I sent a post telling everybody in my facebook friends list. A simple, yet, most welcoming SMS awakened my Nokia N91. It said: "I'm interesed, please give me an email...PS your email isn't working. Dana B.


OHHH HAPPY DAY! I started to sing. Yes!!! Finally someone willing to join the Team. 


The message came after 10 minutes!!! It took just 10 minutes for Dana B. to read the post, send an email (that didn't work at first) and send a SMS on my cellphone. How can anyone believe that such a person isn't a social media expert? It wasn't actually a surprise for me. Dana was in my class, back in high-school, of course top of the class and a very ambitios gal. I could not ignore her! I set up a meeting the next week. Of course I requested her CV, but in my mind the the dice were already thrown and I knew that she wasn't a waste of time.


So we met! And my instincts were, as always, right.


Now we are working together to come up with a plan on how to make a Social Media Department work in the good of the company.
