When I say Twitteromania, I'm not reffering to Twitte-Romania [the accout of Romania (country in East-Europe) on Twitter]. In fact there is a bit o sense when I say Romania, but this I will detail later, about a real case o Twitteromania.
So, what is Twitteromania? It is said that 10-20% of the Worlds population suffers from depression. Some cases are lost forever and others are just passing stages. Twitteromania is an addiction because it's like any drug on the market and the sad thing is that it strikes in ... well most of us.
The disease of 21st century is depression. It seems that though it took us more than 5000 years to perfect our speaking capabilities we are now on the brink of social comunication collapse. Yes, my friends! It took us 50 years to realize that we are no longer capable of interactic with each other.
It may seem a bit Biblical, but something similar happend with the Tower of Babel. They were able to understand each other perfectly (nobody knows how) but God made it so that after they were almost finished with the Tower they were cursed to speak diferent languages, never again to understand each other.
Still I like more the scientific explanation, rather than the religios one. So if there are signs that we are no longer able to comunicate properly with each other there is science in that, not a religios brain washing mambo-jambo.
Why are we becoming so shy? And why do we think that social media is better than just a simple talk face to face?
Ok! now! The sad part...is it possible that social media may kill you? Unfortunately, yes!
There was a case in Romania, a few years back, with a girl who died because of...probably Twitter. She was a twitteromaniac (a twitter addict). So what is wrong with that? Well, she died beacause she was bathing in the tub with her notebook close by. As the notebook was running low on battery, she plugged it in, with her wet hands. That was the moment when a 17 year old girl died because of social media addiction, because she wanted that badly to tweet.
Sad...but true story. Twitteromania can kill you!
